Social media plug-ins

Our website uses social plug-ins for the Facebook, Xing, Google+ and LinkedIn social networks on the basis of Article 6(1) sentence 1 letter f) of the GDPR to promote our firm. The underlying advertising purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The respective providers are responsible for ensuring data protection-compliant operation. We integrate these plug-ins using the double-click method to protect visitors to our website in the best way possible.

a) Facebook plug-in

Our website uses social media plug-ins from Facebook to personalise its use. For this we use the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button. These are provided by Facebook.

If you visit a page of our website that contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated by your browser into the website.

By integrating the plug-ins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged into Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the US and stored there.

If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to our website directly to your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the "LIKE" or "SHARE" button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information will also be posted on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends.

Facebook may use this information for the purpose of advertising, market research and the design of needs-based Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website in relation to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website, and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

For information concerning the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for the protection of your privacy, please refer to the Facebook privacy policy at:

This network is provided by XING AG, domiciled in Dammtorstrasse 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. If one of our web pages that contains XING functions is called up, a connection is established to XING servers. We have no knowledge of XING storing personal data. As far as we know, XING does not evaluate or store IP addresses. If you would like further information on the XING privacy policy, this can be accessed at

c) Google+ plug-in

Our website also uses functions from Google+. The social network is provided by Google Ireland Limited which is based at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google+ allows you to publish content globally via its button. Google and its partners also offer you personalised content. Google stores your approval (+1) of content and information of web pages which you clicked when awarding the +1. Your +1 approval can be displayed with your profile name and photo in other Google services. Google logs all your +1 activities. This log is used to optimise and personalise your Google services. To use the Google+ platform, you set up a globally visible profile under a name selected by you. The name selected is also used for the other Google services. Anyone who knows your email address can therefore reach your Google+ profile. Under its data privacy terms, Google uses the data captured, inter alia, to prepare statistics, the summaries of which are passed on to partner firms or used in other ways. Details concerning data usage and data privacy terms can be found at This link also contains notes on individual data privacy settings in Google+.
